Teeth grinding is also called as Bruxism. It is a medical term for grinding, gnashing or clenching your teeth. It can occur during day or night but they are different. Grinding of your teeth at night is called sleep bruxism. There’s no definite explanation on how we can acquire it, but some people says that it is caused by emotional stress, overbite, malocclusion and malfunction in the nervous system. Some symptoms of it are headache, fractures of the teeth and fillings, decayed teeth, facial muscle pain, sensitive teeth and receding gum line. In order to decrease the damage of bruxism, we are advised to have mouth guard. But still, it is better if you consult your doctor about this problem.
